About The Author

Hello Everyone, 

I’m Karina Guerna and I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY. For over 8 years, I’ve been in classrooms empowering young minds, but becoming a mom turned up the volume on everything I believed about learning, creativity, and culture. My son lit a fire in me, one that pushed me to create something that wasn’t just educational, but personal, meaningful, and rooted in where I come from.
That spark led to my debut children’s book, ABC’s in NYC!  A vibrant love letter to my hometown and the heartbeat of our culture. From A to Z, it celebrates the sounds, sights, and soul of the city that raised me.
Through this book and my creative work at Guerna Studios, I’m on a mission to inspire families to read together, explore their roots, and fall in love with learning, one page at a time.
